New to Simplified Chinese Pokémon? Here's the short version of what you're buying and why collectors chase it.
What are Simplified Chinese sets?
They're official Pokémon TCG products printed for mainland China, with card text in simplified Chinese characters. They're a separate line from Traditional Chinese cards (released for Taiwan and Hong Kong) — different products, different packaging. Every Chinese item on our site says “Simplified Chinese” in the title.
Why collectors want them
- China-exclusive cards. Many sets include artwork and cards you can't get in English or Japanese — like the exclusive Sylveon in Terastal Gathering or Maushold in Reward Round.
- Unique products. Lines like the Gem Pack series were made for the Chinese market and have no English or Japanese equivalent.
- Fun to open. Gem Pack cards are all holo, and the boxes are small enough to open on stream or gift.
- Great value. You often get comparable chase cards for less than the equivalent English or Japanese product.

Reading the rarity
Gem Pack cards use stars instead of letters. ★★★ three-star cards are the top tier — the big chase pulls, similar to Japanese Art Rares. ★★ two-star cards are the stamped hits you'll see a few of per box.
Can you play with them?
Yes in China — they're used in official tournaments there. Outside China, events generally require English cards, so most buyers here collect, open or grade them rather than play them competitively.
Grading
Chinese cards can be graded just like English or Japanese cards. Keep pulls sleeved and in a toploader right out of the pack if you plan to submit.
